David Gregor-Writing Life is an new endeavor for me. Since writing has been a significant part of my life since the 1970s it only seems appropriate that I have a place where I can share what I am doing, along with writing related subjects and stories. I began writing seriously when I was a journalism student at the University of Washington in the mid 70s. The UW Daily newspaper was a hotbed of talented writers and editors, many of whom have gone on to honorable work with major news organizations around the country. My first published piece in The Daily was a feature on a man who lived in my apartment building on Capitol Hill who was going through a change of sex. This was almost fifty years ago. The more I got to know this fellow the more intrigued I became with the notion of someone wanting to completely change them self physically and literally become someone else.
